Guide: Image Question on Collect

Record an image in your survey using the image question. Here is everything you should know about it — creating it, answering it, etc.

If you want to record an image as a part of your survey, you can add an image question on Collect. It will help add a layer of validation to your data collection and give you visual evidence. Collect allows you to decide the quality of this image and whether the image should be clicked live or uploaded from the gallery. In this article, we will discuss:

  • How to create an image question on Collect web
  • How to answer an image question on Collect app

A. Creating an Image Question

An image question has multiple elements like question title, question keyword, help content, and some quality settings. To understand them better, we will take a example and create it on Collect.

Example: We want to get the image of every respondent for easy identification. For this, we will add an image question on Collect. Now, we want that this image should be taken live, so we will disable uploading images. This question will look like the image below.

Image Screenly

To create this question on the Collect web dashboard, we will add the following details:

  • Question Title: "Take an image of the respondent:"
  • Mandatory Question: Yes (Check-marked)
  • Question Keyword: "image"
  • Image Quality: High
  • Allow user to select an image from gallery: No (Not check-marked)

Note: If you want to allow people to upload images from their gallery, you can check-mark "Allow user to select an image from gallery"
